IL NOMAD DANCE FEST A MILANO: MUSICHE, DANZE E TRADIZIONI lungo la GIPSY ROUTE “La via dei gitani”
Un viaggio dall’India alla Spagna

Da Ottobre 2011 gli appassionati di danza, musica e culture nomadi di tutto il mondo hanno ora il loro punto di riferimento: si tratta della prima edizione del Nomad Dance Fest®, che si svolge a Milano (Superstudiopiù di via Tortona, 27) nel fine settimana del 29 e 30 ottobre 2011.
Il primo Festival Italiano di Danze, Musica e Culture Nomadi dal Mondo si ispira alla “Gipsy Route” la via dei gitani che è stata percorsa dalle popolazioni nomadi più di 600 anni fa partendo dall’India, dal deserto dei Thar, attraverso la Persia, la Turchia, l’Egitto, il Marocco , i Balcani in particolare nel Sud della Francia, fino al Mediterraneo, Creta, Grecia, l’Andalusia in Spagna e alcune parti del Sud Italia.
Un festival dedicato alle musiche e alle culture migranti, alle tradizioni in movimento della via dei gitani, in modo universale e solidale perché è il tempo di recuperare tradizioni antiche che ci fanno ritornare alle nostre origini. Un progetto che vuole produrre danza, musica e cultura in modo solidale, attento ad essere eco sostenibile tramite eventi, artisti, musica autentica ed aziende che rispettino il nostro pianeta.
Il Festival sosterrà alcune associazioni benefiche con la raccolta di fondi che saranno devoluti a fondazioni benefiche che rispettano i diritti umani.
Durante la serata di GALA SHOW uno degli artisti del Festival sarà premiato con una scultura dell’artista ROBERTO MULAZZANI, in Arte ISA VENI, che ha anche realizzato anche delle opere su tela e bozzetti per gli inviti e manifesti del Nomad Dance Fest.
L’obiettivo del Festival è quello di riscoprire tradizioni e culture dei popoli nomadi, che hanno dato le origini a tutte le culture, la musica e le danze antiche: una kermesse di suoni, colori e sapori per scoprire le radici di tutte le danze folk e le tradizioni nomadi che sono giunte fino a noi. Un weekend ricco e interattivo che si articola in workshops di danza, eventi, performance a tema, mostre d’arte e di pittura , artigianato locale e internazionale. Una parte espositiva sarà riservata alle scuole di danza, agli operatori del settore turistico, agli artigiani in modo da offrire un ventaglio molto ampio di proposte.
Partner del Festival è Porsche Italia, in collaborazione con le proprie filiali di Milano. Una Porsche Cayenne Diesel sarà messa a disposizione per il trasferimento degli artisti durante il weekend nomade. Per raccontare poi alcuni dei viaggi avventurosi affidati alla guida della Cayenne, sarà allestita una mostra video/fotografica relativa a due esperienze, una in Libia e una dalla Russia alla Mongolia.
Saranno presenti al Festival INCREDIBLE INDIA con l’ufficio del Turismo di Milano e la presenza alla GALA SHOW del direttore Mr. Gobind Chandra Bhuyan che consegnerà un riconoscimento all’Artista Nomade del Festival.
MISS INDIA Italy sarà nostro partner e la vincitrice della scorsa edizione di Dubai sarà presente al Festival per la premiazione dell’Artista del Festival.
Fulcro della manifestazione il Nomad Bazaar che ricreerà un vero SOUK con tanto di tende berbere, odalische che servono thè alla menta e dolci arabi e dove si potrà farsi coccolare da massaggi e trattamenti all’olio di Argan e Disegni all’henne a mani e piedi proposti da HAMMAM MORESKO di Milano.
Nela HALL SOUK si potrà assistere a performance di danza, musica, mostre e sfilate di abiti gipsy e gustarsi gli etnici e gustosi Nomad Happy hour dalle 19.30.
Lo spazio “Teteria” o sala da thè araba, all’entrata del Festival, ricreerà una tenda del deserto e incanterà gli ospiti con la magia dei Tarocchi e l’Astrologia Karmica fra un thè alla menta e un tatuaggio all’hennè.
E’ previsto anche il concorso fotografico “NOMADISMI” che premierà la foto con un viaggio da “PHOTOREPORTER NOMADE” in India.La giuria sarà composta da fotografi d’eccezione come JARNO IOTTI, il fotografo ufficiale di Luciano Ligabue, BARBARA ALTOMARE nota e creativa fotografa di Moda e alcuni degli artisti internazionali.
I giovani talenti della danza potranno partecipare al Cconcorso di danze nomadi ed etniche “NOMAD ROOTS” organizzato in collaborazione con Vietata riproduzione ed il Festival del Folclore di Valenza dove saranno premiati i migliori danzatori e compagnie emergenti sul territorio italiano.
Direttrice artistica del Nomad Dance Fest ® è Maya Devi, danzatrice ed insegnante di Danze Nomadi e Indiane, Maestra di Yoga, ricercatrice spirituale e fondatrice della scuola di danza e yoga Mudrarte di Milano.Maya è membro del CID UNESCO Consiglio internazionale della Danza.
Nel corso del Festival saranno proposte Danze Indiane classiche e di fusione come la Bollywood, danze folk e tradizionali della Gipsy Route, Danze Gipsy del Rajasthan e Kalbeliya, danze orientali e del ventre, danze persiane, afghane e greche, flamenco e danze e musiche del Sud Italia. Sono attesi artisti da tutt’Italia e dalle aree della Gipsy Route che si esibiranno sul palco del Nomad Dance Fest ®.

THE NOMAD DANCE FEST IN MILAN: MUSIC, DANCE AND TRADITIONS along the GIPSY ROUTE "The path of the Gypsies" A journey from India to Spain
MILAN 29 and 30 of October 2011
From October 2011, fans of dance, music and nomadic cultures around the world have now their reference point: this is the first edition of the Nomad Dance Fest, held in Milan (Superstudiopiù in Via Tortona, 27) on the 29 and 30 October 2011.
The first Italian Festival of nomadic Dance, Music and Cultures of the World is inspired by the "Gypsy Route" the way of the gypsies that has been traveled by nomadic people for over 600 years ago, starting from India, the Thar desert, through Persia, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, the Balkans, particularly in the South of France to the Mediterranean, Crete, Greece, Andalucia in Spain and parts of southern Italy.
A festival of music, migrant cultures and traditions of the gypsies on the move because it is time to recover ancient traditions that make us return to our origins. A project that wants to produce dance, music and culture in a supportive, careful to be environmentally sustainable through events, artists, music and authentic businesses that respect our planet.
The Festival will support some charities with fundraising that will be donated to charitable foundations which respect human rights.
During the evening of Sunday, October 30 one of the festival artists will be rewarded with a sculpture by Roberto Mulazzani who also produced drawings on canvas and sketches for Nomad Dance Fest.
The aim of the Festival is to rediscover traditions and cultures of nomadic peoples, who have given origin to all cultures, ancient music and dance: a celebration of sounds, colors and flavors to discover the roots of all the folk dances and nomadic traditions that have come down to us. A weekend full interactive and consists of dance workshops, events, performances, themed exhibitions of art and painting, local and international artisans. An exhibition area will be reserved for dance schools, for tourism operators, artisans in order to offer a very wide range of proposals.
Porsche is the main sponsor of the Festival which will provide the fantastic Porsche Cayenne to accompany the artists during the weekend .In the hall Souk will be installed the photo exhibition TRANSIBERIANA, a collection of images and video of the trip from Libya to Siberia and the Cayenne 5 TRANSYBERIA who made the journey across the deserts of Libya.
INCREDIBLE INDIA and India Tourism Milan will be supporting the Festival with the special presence at the GALA SHOW of the Director Mr. Gobind Chandra Bhuyan, who will deliver a recognition of one of the Artist of the Festival.
MISS INDIA Italy will be our partners and some of the competitors of the last edition of Dubai will be attending the Festival in beautiful Sarees and traditional clothing.
The centerpiece of the event, which will recreate a real Nomad Bazaar Souk complete with Berber tents, concubines serving mint tea and Arabic sweets and where you will be pampered with massages and treatments with Argan oil and henna designs on hands and feet BATH Moresko proposed by Milan.
Nela HALL Souk you can attend performances of dance, music, exhibitions and fashion shows of clothes and enjoy the gypsy ethnic and tasty Nomad Happy hour from 19.30.
The space "Teteria" or Arabian tea room, the entrance to the Festival, will recreate a tent in the desert and will enchant guests with the magic of Tarot and Astrology Karmic between a mint tea and a henna tattoo.
It 'also provided the photo contest "Nomad" which will award a trip to the photo with "photoreporter NOMAD" in India.La jury will consist of professional photographers and some of the Italian artists.
The young dancers will participate in the contest and nomadic ethnic dances "NOMAD ROOTS" organized in collaboration with the Reproduction and Folklore Festival of Valencia where they will be awarded to the best dancers emerging on the Italian territory.
Dance Fest Artistic Director of Nomad ® is Maya Devi, a dancer and dance teacher and Indian nomads, Teacher of Yoga, spiritual researcher and founder of the school of dance and yoga Mudrarte of Milan.
During the Festival will be proposed Indian classical dances such as Bollywood and fusion, folk and traditional dances of the Gypsy Route Gipsy Dances of Rajasthan and Kalbeliya, Eastern and belly dance, Persian dance, Afghan and Greek, flamenco dancing and music from the South Italy. Artists are expected from Italy and from areas of the Gypsy Route that will perform on stage at the Nomad ® Dance Fest.
Program and artists
The two days will be divided into two "Routes" different:
Saturday is devoted to the ways of the desert: "From the desert of Thar Desert in Rajasthan to the Sahara." The Sunday, is dedicated to the GIPSY TRIBES "From Persia, the Balkans, the Mediterranean crossing to Andalusia."
The gypsy people tell their stories and traditions through music and dance.
Through national and international artists participating in the festival have the opportunity to experience the magical atmosphere of these countries:
- The Dhoad GIPSYES OF RAJASTHAN (nomadic Indian group that has played for Shakira and Mick Jagger) who will delight us with the rhythms of Rajasthan;
- SUA DEVI SAPERA the dancer of the snake charmers' Kalbeliya "of Rajasthan (Film Interpreter of LATCH DROM by Tony Gatlif);
-Representative of Dance Indian classical dancer NURIA GRAU SALA who will present workshops and performances in Bharata Natyam dance THEATRE.
- Uzbekistan SCHACHLO elegant dancer of Persian and Afghan dances;
- MERCEDES RUIZ, bailaora of Flamenco in Jerez de La Frontera, who won the Biennale de Sevilla and the Festival de Jerez, which will be accompanied during the lessons and entertainment by flamenco guitarist Santiago Lara.
For Eastern Dance and Tribal Belly Dance Masters of international reputation:
BORG-IRENE, RAFFAELLA onion, GIULIA MION, CATHERINE RUILLET, FRANCESCA PEDRETTI, ALESSANDRA Centonze and Jamila Zaki and the group who took care of the Circle Zagharid with Maya section of Middle Eastern dances.
Musicians of oriental music, ethnic fusion and dancers accompany: Fent and Stolfi BABEL MUTANT with Papi Moreno and Roberto Zanisi.
For the gypsy and gypsy dances of the Balkans and Vidhi Bogdanovska AMIRA NEMETH Hungary and of course the mother and creator of this festival that will feature the MAYA DEVI HINDI Flamenca, a fusion of Flamenco and Indian dance and Dances of Rajasthan along with the musicians and Dhoad.
Kajira-DJOUMAHNI, Gues STAR from U.S., the creator of the black sheep tribal belly dance, a fusion of oriental dance gypsy, Indian and flamenco.
Guests of honor Walter Maioli, noted researcher and musician flute and prehistoric tools that he composed the music of "Gladiator," with his band Blue 1001 Nights, which will preview her concert "TRIP TO THE ORIGINS" and the band Neapolitan SPAKKANEAPOLIS 55, interpreters of the film "Passion" by John Turturro presenting Neapolitan music and Southern Italy.
WOLFGANG VON MITZI special guest, renowned teacher of Burlesque and Gypsy dances that will feature exclusive to the Festival a unique class with a performance at the GALA GIPSY COMEDY SHOW.
All artists will be accompanied by musical groups and dance with live music in all cultures as a gypsy.
